This was the first and last time I agreed to do 2 weddings in 1 day. This was also the day I realized I might actually be pregnant. Walking into the garden back yard was like stepping into a dream; it was absolutely what little girls dream of when they think about their wedding. The specific roses that Christina decided on perfectly complimented her dress and the surroundings. It was the perfect garden wedding. And to be perfectly honest, I am thrilled that the smudges on the cake (from my unsteady placement of the flowers-hello dehydrated newly pregnant self), don’t show in the photos….too much.

Sarah was the first person to ask me for a business card (2+ years before she was engaged). I had only done one or two weddings before then, and had not thought of turning it into a business. I tried to laugh off my lack of professionalism, gave her my cell number, and for the first time, called myself The Crazy Flower Lady (instead of my name, like the weirdo I am). I’ve had the privilege of catering a number of weddings and event’s with Sarah’s parents over the years. It was such fun to finally get the call when Sarah was ready to get married too!

Getting to spend another wedding at the Miller Homestead with Aunt Cindy from Exquisite Events was such a pleasure. The Miller family has a tradition of making sure grandma’s pearls make it down the aisle one way or the other. So for the second year in a row, I was ready with my needle and thread to stitch on those pearls! I will never forget Dani’s niece going down the aisle as the flower girl, it was her second year too, and man did she have that petal (or rather eucalyptus leaves) throw down!

Foxwood House Winter Shoot

Heather messaged me about 2 days before the photo shoot, with a handful of pictures, and idea, and a short timeline. I was over the moon to be recommended to Heather by a high school friend, now well known photographer, Christopher Thompson. I didn’t realize photo shoots for wedding vendors were a thing, and was honored to be apart of this one. It later was published by Apple Brides magazine…you could have knocked me down with a feather. This photo shoot, and working with these vendors, gave me the confidence to say ‘yes’ to many other events and weddings in the coming years.

When I showed up at the Miller Homestead, I was sicker than a dog. However, I apparently fooled everybody! I had the world’s worst summer cold and was hopped up on Dayquil. Despite muddling through I apparently amused everyone with my drug induced wit and made quite the impression on who I now fondly call Aunt Cindy of Exquisite Events. But enough about me, how about those flowers?! Can you see those pearls peaking out on the bridal bouquet? Scroll up a ways and you might just see them again.
